Car Rental Guidelines on RoophTop

RoophTop is committed to ensuring a high standard of vehicle quality and service for both hosts and renters. Please review the following guidelines carefully:

• Vehicle Condition: All vehicles listed on RoophTop MUST be in good working condition, meeting all safety inspection and legal requirements for roadworthiness. RoophTop management is particularly vested in ensuring this guideline is followed by all prospective hosts.
• Insurance Coverage: Hosts must provide proof of comprehensive insurance coverage for the vehicle, including liability coverage for third-party damages.
• Maintenance History: Hosts should maintain a record of regular servicing and maintenance, ensuring that the vehicle is safe and reliable for renters.
• Clean Title: The vehicle must have a clean title, free from any liens or legal disputes, and should not be subject to any outstanding recalls.
• Verification of Hostship: Hosts must provide valid proof of Hostship, such as vehicle registration documents, to ensure that they have the legal authority to rent out the car.
• Cleanliness Standards: Hosts are responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is clean, safe, and well-maintained before each rental, both inside and out. Users (Renters) are required to return the car in the same clean condition as during pick-up.
• Availability: Hosts should accurately update the availability of their vehicle on the platform and promptly communicate to prevent double bookings and ensure a smooth rental process.
• Communication Responsiveness: Hosts should be responsive to renter inquiries and requests, providing timely assistance to improve the experience of our users (renters). This is very important to our management team.
• Rates and Fees: RoophTop proposes rates that are 10% below the market rental rates for a given vehicle. However, hosts are required to set their own rental rates and may choose to include additional fees for services such as delivery, cleaning, or late returns.
• Mileage Limit: Hosts may choose to set a daily mileage limit for renters and total duration mileage. Hosts may also charge for additional mileage above the set limits.

Driver Requirements:

• Users (Renters) must meet the driving age and licensing requirement of their state to rent the vehicle, and hosts may choose to impose additional restrictions such as a minimum driving experience or prior experience on RoophTop.

Cancellation Policy:

• Hosts’ cancellation policy must be consistent with RoophTop cancellation and refunds guidelines. Hosts can set more flexible cancellation guidelines based on their availability and personal circumstances.
